1. General Policy
Adopt Helpless Children Charitable Trust (“AHCCT”) follows a reliable refund policy to let our donors feel privileged about their association with us. We take utmost care about processing donations as per the instructions given by our donors, online and offline. However, in case of an unlikely event of an erroneous donation or if the donor would like to cancel his donation, AHCCT will respond to the donor within 7 working days of receiving a valid request for refund from the donor.
2. Eligibility for Refunds
We will examine each request for a refund of donation and endeavour to make the refund. We may also seek further information / documents and donor must co-operate in this regard. Refunds are generally processed under the following circumstances:
- Technical Error: If a transaction was made due to a technical error or glitch on our website.
- Duplicate Transaction: If the same donation was charged twice due to a server error.
- Unauthorized Use: If the donation was made using a lost or stolen credit card or without the cardholder’s authorization.
- Data Entry Error: If the donor made a typing error while entering the amount (e.g., entered 10,000 instead of 1,000).
3. Refund Request Process
To request a refund, please contact us within 30 days from the date of the donation. Your request must include the following details:
- Date of donation
- Donation amount
- Payment mode (Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI)
- Transaction Reference Number
- Reason for the refund request

4. Processing Time
Once your refund request is received and verified, we will initiate the refund process. The refund amount will be credited back to the original method of payment used during the transaction. Please allow 7-14 business days for the credit to appear in your account, depending on your bank or credit card issuer’s policies.
5. Tax Exemption Certificates
If a tax exemption certificate (such as an 80G receipt) has already been issued for the donation, we may not be able to process a refund unless the original receipt is returned to us for cancellation. This is to ensure compliance with Indian tax laws and regulations regarding charitable donations.
6. Recurring Donations
Donors who have signed up for the monthly recurring donation program can cancel their subscription at any time. To stop future deductions, please contact us at least 5 business days before the next scheduled deduction date. We will cancel the recurring mandate immediately upon request.
7. Changes to Policy
AHCCT reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. We encourage donors to review this policy periodically.
